Indian Baywatch

Indian BaywatchAlong the shores of Orissa a revolutionary act is taking place. Something that has never been done before here on the beaches of Puri; a brand new lifeguard school is teaching the local fisherman how to become life savers of the water. From the looks of it, you might say Orissa is starting their very own Indian Baywatch. The Kalinga Divers' Foundation Trust with Rastriya Life Saving Society has started a 10-day training program that has grasped the attention of the media nationwide. The program, headed by ocean cinematographer and foundation President, Sabir Bux and Himansu Das, takes 18 Nolias from Sagar Tarang Lifeguard Association at a time and turns them into life saving machines for Orissa's busy touristseason. This footage is part of the professionally-shot stock footage archive of Wilderness Films India Ltd., the largest collection of imagery from South Asia. The Wilderness Films India collection comprises of thousands of hours of high quality broadcast imagery, mostly shot on HDCAM 1080i High Definition, HDV and Digital Betacam. Write to us for licensing this footage on a broadcast format, for use in your production! We pride ourselves in bringing the best of India and South Asia to the world... wfi @ vsnl.com and admin@wildfilmsindia.com.
